Wee Sophie (b.10 November 2011)

11 November 2011
It's been a while since I wrote about how a creature comes into being, and so I wanted to share with you the process I went through to make Wee Sophie. Sophie is a beautiful Shih Tzu who lives in Australia, so she's kept trimmed because of the heat. A huge thank you to Kristy who commissioned a miniature version of her beloved pet (along with a couple of mice for her parents!)

Halloween Special 2011

19th October 2011
I have to say that it doesn't feel like a year since I did my last Halloween Special post. (Well, technically speaking, it's not quite a year, but let's not quibble about it.)

And so the Quernus menagerie has evolved over the past year, and they have taken playing with accessories to new extremes. So I'm delighted to introduce this year's Halloween creatures!

Mice Anatomy

17th September 2011

The Quernus mice are good wee souls at heart. Many of them have found their way into the caring professions, and I have to say, I'd be very happy with one of these wee mites came to look after me if I was poorly!

I have just found out that Louise of Dinky Delights is a new grandmother to Cassie Louise, born last night to Michelle, and both mother and baby are doing well! To celebrate, we follow the mice as they might have managed this labour.

Paramedic Mouse

The Alternative Legal Profession

16th August 2011
It took me quite a while to pluck up the courage to make some creatures decked out in the garb of my former profession, but once they started appearing, there was no stopping them!

First up is Mortimer the Barrister Mouse, whose inspiration is Rumpole of the Bailey. Standing at about 3.5cm tall, his diminutive stature is no indication of his prowess in the courts.

Wee Teddy (b.7 February 2011)

16th July 2011
I'd love to introduce you to Wee Teddy. Wee Teddy was a very special commission for a very special boy's birthday. The commission was from Tracy of Ruby Spirit Designs and Kev of Dig the Earth, two extremely talented and lovely people who just happen to be married to each other! (And in actual fact, I own works of art created by both these lovely people - do pop along and visit their websites when you get the chance :)
