2013...the year so far

7th November 2013
Crikey, it's been a while since I last posted! This year has been absolutely manic, and looks set to continue that way until Christmas at least! It's been a year of change, new ideas, new directions, big learning curves - and above all, FUN!

Coming up in the next few weeks are two Country Living Fairs - I'm going to be in Glasgow from 21st to 24th November at the SECC, and then the following week at the Harrogate International Centre from 28th November to 1st December. So I've been working flat out making wee creatures to take with me - as well as lots of Christmas creatures, there will be many unique collaborations with some of my favourite artists :)

Isn't this wonderful?! The very talented Paul of Phoenix Glass has made this adorable heart-shaped platform for two little mice kissing under the mistletoe. We're going to work on this design for wedding cake toppers next year, so watch this space.  Paul has also been made some lampwork Christmas puddings for the mice, who couldn't wait to nom them....

I've also been working Jennifer of JS Miniatures, who has designed these amazing miniature sleighs and reindeer just for Santa Mouse.

Eirini of Dromme Lund has also made four beautiful wire trees for me, which I am currently 'mousing' - this year, we're doing a Four Seasons theme, and I have made tiny polymer clay apples for this beautiful Autumn tree. The Winter Tree is also just amazing, and I can't wait to unveil the finished series!

I've been working on a range of new wee creatures for this Christmas, including Penguins and Polar Bears, not to mention lots of mice!

Also new for 2013 are a range of Christmas cards featuring photographs of Quernus Christmas Creatures, and also calendars, notebooks and bookmarks - I'm just waiting to get these from the printers, but I'm very excited about them! More on that story later ;)

I'll be travelling up to Glasgow in the Mousemobile, my new van which I love to bits, and which will stand me in very good stead for next year when I embark upon the Quernus Tours! Sign up for my newsletter if you'd like to  come along to one of these small gatherings which will take place around the UK and Ireland, where you'll have the chance to adopt the wee creatures, watch demonstrations, and perhaps do a workshop, and generally spend a pleasant few hours having a blether :)

I won't leave it so long before I write with another update - in the meantime, I hope to see you at the Country Living Fairs, and if not, I'll probably meet you when I take the wee creatures on tour next year!

    1. Thanks Rachel! I love the wee van too :) The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind - the plan for Quernus on Tour just feels absolutely perfect for next year, and if they work out as planned, I won't be doing any of the larger events again - yay!! See you in a few weeks, and don't forget to pack your jewellery ;) xx
